day 19 (week 3, day 5)

“So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.” → 1 Corinthians 3:21-23

What does this mean? Why does the Lord give it all to you?

Lord, humanity has a tendency to worship what we see and that is our struggle. We see men and their promises of health and love and prosperity. We flock after those men as if they are You. We raise them to worship them instead of You. We even separate as believers to defend our prideful stance.

You say that we are all the same - from homeless crack addict to highly degreed and intellectual pastor overseeing a parish of thousands. As believers in Christ, we are all the same and of Christ. There is no hierarchy. There is only You. Amen.
